Inter-American School is an English Language Immersion school, offering U.S. curriculum and instruction to students in Prekindergarten through Twelfth Grade. IAS was established in 1961, and by God’s grace has continued to grow and serve the educational needs of students from both international and local families in the beautiful highland valley of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. We not only strive to inspire students in academic achievement from their early years of education through high school graduation, but we also seek to provide an authentic Christian environment that encourages students to demonstrate Christ-like behavior and be active disciples in their community. It is our daily goal to equip students with the proper knowledge and life skills that will develop their talents and empower them to transform the world in Christ’s name.
- The school day runs from 7:30am to 3:30pm for all staff.
- Small class sizes (~15 students).
- The school year runs mid-August to the end of May. There are breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas (3 weeks), Easter (1 week), and other holidays.

Requirements
This opening is for a Secondary Teacher in Math, Science, or Bible for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year, which begins in January 2025, or as soon as the candidate can arrive.
- We are looking for applicants who are willing to help us fulfill our mission to promote academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment. Teachers must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Teachers must have a bachelor's degree; an education degree is preferred, but not required.
- Teachers must have English as a first language or near native fluency.
- Teachers have responsibilities to plan and teach the equivalent of 5 courses. There are 7 or 8 periods in the school day.
- Current urgent needs: Science, Math, Bible, & PE. Candidates for other subject areas will be considered.
- Candidates from North America strongly preferred.
