The Head of School (HoS) is the school's chief executive officer (CEO). The HoS is responsible for carrying out all aspects of the school's purposes, educational objectives, and policies, as established by the Board and as reflected in the bylaws, and developing internal policy in agreement with the school's philosophy, mission, values, and goals. The Head of School is accountable to the school board and participates in an annual evaluation process. The Head of the School leads the IA administrative team. The position begins July 1, 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities
Spiritual Climate at School
Model Christ-like behavior and attitudes.
Cultivate the spiritual health of the staff and students at IA.
Ensure that the educational content and activities reflect a Biblical worldview and ethic.
School and Educational Operations
Assure the development of high-performance standards in educational achievement according to ACSI accreditation standards.
Ensure the creation and implementation of a comprehensive school development plan.
Ensure that order and discipline are maintained in accordance with school policy. In typical cases, the Head of School is the last line of responsibility for student and staff discipline.
Responsible for ensuring excellence in student enrollment, admissions, and retention.
School and Business Operations
Presents the annual financial budget to the Board for approval and abides by it
Presents regular financial reports to the Board at the request of the Board.
Responsible for developing, using, and maintaining the school's facilities, equipment, property, and transportation.
School Relationships Maintain visibility with the Board, faculty and staff, students, and parents.
Owner Relations
Maintains an active presence in Board meetings and ongoing proceedings.
Provides regular HoS reports and keeps the Board informed.
Recommends changes in governance policies to all school owners.
Serves as liaison between school staff and governance owners.
Faculty & Staff
Monitors, evaluates and reviews the policies, priorities, and goals of the school in relationship to the faculty and staff.
Ensures that faculty and staff have the resources required to fulfill their responsibilities.
Ensures that faculty and staff performance is evaluated properly and timely.
Students and Parents
Maintains open and trustworthy communication between the school and parents.
Ensures that school policies about students and parents are enforced.
Public Relations
Maintains positive relationships among the community, alums, parents, and donors on behalf of the school.
Assists in fund-raising for the school.
Oversees the school's general public relations.
Network with other Christian school associations.
Faculty and Staff Employment
Responsible for recruiting and hiring new faculty and staff.
Maintains accessibility to faculty and staff.
Assures that faculty and staff are committed to the school's philosophy, mission statement, and instructional goals.
Acts as the primary supervisor of faculty and staff care.
Acts as the primary administrator pertaining to faculty and staff about:
Orientation
Contracts
personal and professional development
evaluations
compensation
discipline and termination
Qualifications
Masters in School Administration or Christian Leadership
