School Background
NorthStar Academy is a top-ranked online Christian international school for grades 4 - 12 which has served students in over 158 countries over the past 26 years. NorthStar Academy’s mission is rooted in our commitment to Christ which leads to our personal investment in our students, families, and schools. NorthStar provides families and schools with a wide variety of high-quality courses with flexibility. The majority of our courses are provided asynchronously and year-round with weekly start dates from August through June.
NorthStar Academy is more than an online learning program. It is a vibrant, active international school community interacting daily through technology such as Teams, Outlook, and our LMS. NorthStar Academy strives to be an online community that develops students who are Christ followers, university and life-ready, of Christ-like character, globally-minded, servant leaders, Biblically literate, and lifelong learners. As such, our curriculum team has partnered with teachers to design 80% of our courses within our Learning Management System (LMS), Agilix Buzz, ensuring our courses are standards-aligned and grounded in a biblical worldview. The remainder of our courses are hand-selected from leading, accredited vendors to meet the needs/interests of students and schools. These courses are customized by our curriculum specialists to include biblical worldview assignments.
Job Summary
Teaching online with NorthStar Academy is more than grading and online meetings. We intentionally seek experienced teachers who love Christ, love a diverse student population, and love their content area; teachers who desire to see the hearts and minds of our students transformed in a flourishing, Christ-centered community.
Our teachers are the heart and face of NorthStar Academy and need to have strong technology, pedagogical, time management, and communication skills to provide individualized, growth-focused feedback to students, invest in building relationships in our online community, and work with supervisors and other teachers to help each student succeed.
