Description
We are looking for a Chaplain/Bible teacher who is passionate about the Gospel and has a heart for teenagers. The Chaplain would be responsible for organizing the weekly chapel services, small groups and student mentoring, as well as giving input into the annual school retreats. The Chaplain would also be expected to interact with the students at lunch and other times and be available to meet with students looking for spiritual guidance. Candidates should be willing to work with students and staff from all cultures and have experience with or be willing to learn more about the joys and struggles of Third Culture Kids. This position can be combined with teaching Bible or other courses particularly if a husband/wife team serves together.
Bible teachers at Rain Forest Int’l School offer academically rigorous courses to 6-12th grade students, while seeking also to offer them an opportunity to meet with God, make a decision about the Gospel and understand how they can be a part of the global body of Christ. Bible teachers will have access to a number of resources and some locally developed curriculum with the freedom to incorporate their own knowledge and giftings. Candidates should be willing to work sensitively with students from a wide variety of religious backgrounds and faith walks. Classes could include Old and New Testament Survey, Basic Theology, Faith Beyond RFIS or Bible electives.
Requirements
Training and calling to work with youth. Have a natural warmth and openness to be with kids from a variety of backgrounds and demonstrate the life of a Christian in day to day interactions.
