Description
The International Academy of Suriname is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Art Teacher to join our team. As an Art Teacher at our school, you will be responsible for planning and delivering art education to students in grades K-12. You will also create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment, monitor student progress, and provide support and guidance when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons that align with the school's curriculum and meet the needs of all students
Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and colleagues in a timely manner
Encourage students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Integrate bible based worldview questions and answers in the lessonplans
Collaboration with other teachers and staff to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Monitoring, assessing, and communicating standards achievements and deficiencies to students and parents
Working with students, specialists, parents, and administrators to develop individual education plans, independent study programs, and academic remediation processes when necessary
Maintaining complete and accurate student academic and disciplinary records
Maintaining and improving their own professional knowledge and skills
Setting an example of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, self-motivation, and self-discipline for students; modeling competence, honesty, personal responsibility, and respect for others in every aspect of the job
Following the letter and the spirit of the approved policies and directives from the Director; cooperating with the Director/Principal, all other employees, classroom assistants, parents, and community members in their common endeavor to educate Academy students
Requirements
- We are seeking individuals with a passion for serving Christ through transformational education.
- Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Art and be native English speakers, preferably from the United States or Canada.
