Job Description:
The Campus Athletic Director serves CCS and student-athletes by overseeing and managing all CCS Athletics, including youth leagues, Middle School teams, and Upper School teams, as well as budgetary, compliance, and coordination efforts, along with the overall student-athlete experience and ensuring its adherence to the mission of CCS.

Responsibilities:
- Initiates, implements, and enforces policies and procedures of the OSSAA, District Conferences, and CCS
- Serves as a liaison for the school between the students, faculty, coaches, sponsors, building administrators, and community agencies
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and coordinating all athletic events in cooperation with the Upper School and Middle School
- Improves upon the competitiveness and winning ways of individuals and teams involved in athletics and other extracurricular activities within the Upper School
- Facilitates and assists faculty and coaches of Middle School and Upper School student athletes, resulting in student athletes achieving their full potential academically, athletically, socially, and morally
- Assumes responsibility for establishing, coordinating, and supporting all athletic events in cooperation with the Upper School, Middle School, and youth teams and leagues
- Serves as a direct administrator for the implementation of policy and practices under the guidance of the Upper and Middle School Principal, generally referred to as Administration
- Plans and coordinates, with the approval of Administration, the program of events for the athletic department
- Appropriates and maintains control of athletic budgets as provided by the Athletic Department and school activity accounts in cooperation with each school and the Chief Financial Officer
- Leads the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of athletic coaches
- Interfaces and collaborates with the Development Department to support, maintain, and implement all necessary communication, social media, approved logos and school colors, team stores, and other branding or outward-facing communication
- Schedules, coordinates, communicates, posts, and enlists all details and personnel necessary to host teams, tournaments, practices, and games with excellence in all aspects
- Provides mentorship, guidance, and balance to the Athletic Department, coaches, and student-athletes
- Ensures all safety, mandated training, and applicable compliance measures are current and complete
- Promotes and supports all school policies
- Participates as a key player of the Administrative Team through attendance of divisional meetings, Administrative Team meetings, retreats, reviews, etc.
- Assumes responsibility for the longitudinal success of coaches, programs, and players through careful and collaborative strategic planning
- Observes and evaluates all programs and coaches throughout the year and in summation at the end of each season and school year
- Serves as a supportive and productive member of the OSSAA as an exemplary ambassador for Christian education and CCS
- Hosts a small group of students as their mentor and facilitator
- Forecasts, prepares, and manages the overall Athletic budget while providing support and accountability for coaches of individual sports budgets
- Serves as a liaison for parents and students who are college recruits to ensure they are informed and connected with appropriate coaches and recruiting services
- Oversees and ensures an effective training program for athletes, including off-season and in-season strength and conditioning, Athletic Trainer, and proper programmatic design of these initiatives
- Ensures all athletic equipment, gear, supplies, and facilities are procured, maintained, and accounted for in planning
- Shepherds, coaches and the Athletic Department through pastoral leadership, executive-level coaching, and expert support
- Guides the Athletic program to adopt specialized programs necessary for relevance, competition, and awareness in a dynamic field
- Contributes to committees, focus groups, and specialty task forces as necessary
- Coordinates, supports, and facilitates the Booster Club in compliance with bylaws
- Other duties as assigned by Administration
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Master’s Degree preferred in Educational Administration or a related field
- Minimum five years of teaching and coaching experience (prefer Head Coaching experience)
- Has or will obtain an ACSI Administrative Certificate within the first two years
- Has or will obtain a CDL within two years
- Loyal, dependable, positive, peacemaker, flexible, humble, dedicated, team player, decisive
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of athletic activities
- Ability to make rational decisions under stressful conditions while interacting, collaborating, and communicating effectively with various groups
- Ability to initiate, plan, develop, and implement strategies for development of programs and coaches
- Ability to coordinate and oversee athletic contests after hours and on weekends when applicable
- Proficiency in technology and strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Possesses strong relational skills
- Experience as an Athletic Director preferred; experience in a Christian school is a plus
