Description
A full time Social Studies and English teacher in Middle School and High School of a small class or a composite class
Key Tasks
Integrate Christian faith into their professional practice, and equip TCK students for Kingdom living through biblical thought, action and character.
Ensure the needs of the ‘whole-child’ are met with reference to the Vision and Mission, Expected Student Outcomes and Intellectual Character Virtues
Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students.
Promote good progress and outcomes by students.
Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge of the subject(s) being taught
Plan dynamic and well-structured lessons, which integrate the Christian worldview and biblical teaching. Ensure Yearly Overviews are created and followed. Follow any schemes of work or units of work as directed by the Curriculum Coordinator
Teach lessons which are engaging, interesting, challenging, and enjoyable, giving students clear learning objectives and criteria through which success can be measured.
Adapt teaching to the strengths and differentiate for the needs of all students.
Give timely feedback on pupil learning, ensuring pupils receive this through marking, verbal feedback and communication of next steps.
Make accurate and productive use of assessment.
Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
Provide communication to parents, both written and verbal, on academic progress, well-being, character development and spiritual formation
Ensure classroom environments are calm and suitable for learning, especially with regard to motivational displays and student work

Professional Development:
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Attend professional development opportunities within and outside of school, as organised in collaboration with school leadership.
Attend and lead staff and student daily devotions
Professional conduct:
Uphold the school's statement of faith.
Adhere to the Staff Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy.
Adhere to all school policies and procedures as set out in the staff handbook
Requirements
MCSC is a caring school which prioritises community, wellbeing and transformation. The children are a delight, the families are supportive and the staff are a fun group of people who work, pray and have fun together.
This candidate needs to be a committed Christian who delights in the company of children and has the flexibility, humour and grace to thrive in what can be a challenging country. Ideally the candidate should be a qualified teacher with some experience in the classroom. Previous overseas experience would also be helpful.
We are looking for a candidate with a qualification of a Bachelor's Degree and ideally a teaching certification. The minimum commitment would be at least one academic year.
