Whitman Academy is an international Christian school located in Amman, Jordan. We exist to support Kingdom work in Jordan by providing an excellent Christian education in English to Third Culture Kids. We aim to produce well-educated, globally-minded disciples, transformed by the Gospel with a heart for people’s physical and spiritual needs and the ambition to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. The Curriculum Coordinator champions this mission and vision for the staff, students, and wider school community. 

Responsibilities:

• Ensure teachers are oriented to their curriculum guides

• Work with teachers to revise and update curriculum guides

• Communicate with textbook distributors to obtain samples and quotes for comparison

• Prepare the textbook orders to present to the Academic Dean

• Keep up-to-date with best practices for teaching and learning 

• Lead curriculum review committees

• Work with the Academic Dean to monitor the curriculum review schedule 

• Analyze student test data and use the information to guide curriculum decisions
• Assist in training teachers in new standards, content or programs

Requirements

• Mature Christian with a clear testimony 
• Master's degree preferable; Bachelor’s degree required 
• 5 years of teaching experience
• Coursework and/or experience with curriculum development 
• High level of organizational, strategic planning and execution skills
• Strong spoke and written English skills
•  Skill in using technology to retrieve and organize usable and reliable information
• Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills with students and adults
