Description

The Director of Academics will oversee the academic standards and progress of both staff and students. They will lead professional development, ensure quality curriculum choices, and support teachers. Given that RFIS is a small school, the Director of Academics will also teach a class or complete additional administrative roles. Applicants should have experience in teaching and/or school administration and a desire to see both students and staff grow and excel.

Requirements

Performs yearly observations and evaluations on teaching staff in conjunction with the Director
Conduct PRD reviews at the beginning of the school year with direct reports
Manages the FACTS system along with the Guidance Counselor
Keeps a record of teacher’s ACSI Continuing Education Units
Trains new teachers in the use of Atlas Curriculum tracking program
Approves any changes made to curriculum in conjunction with the department head, noting external standards of ACSI, MSA and College Board. 
Gives helpful feedback to teachers related to classroom management and instructional methods. 
Provides Learning Support to both teachers and parents.
