Description
The Director of Discipleship leads and champions intentional spiritual formation for students at Burlington Christian Academy (BCA).
This role cultivates Christ-centered relationships, coordinates discipleship programs, and partners with school leadership to support the spiritual growth and well-being of all students.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Spiritual Formation Leadership
Oversee campus discipleship initiatives, including but not limited to chapel services, small groups, retreats, service days, and local/global/outreach opportunities. This happens in conjunction with and as a part of the Student Services Team.
Teach individual Bible classes throughout the year to assist with student connections.
Lead and/or coordinate Bible studies, groups, and ministry courses that aid students in dealing with grief, understanding a call to ministry, and other questions.
- Student Discipleship & Care
Provide pastoral-style guidance, biblical counseling, and spiritual direction to students. Serve as a student advocate and partner with the Student Services Team in responding to student needs.
- Program Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with school administration and Student Services to develop student leadership, plan ministry events, and strenghten schoolwide spiritual development.
Help to plan, coordinate, and facilitate weekly chapel services for Elementary, Middle, and High School. help to plan, coordinate, and faciliate monthly chapel services for Preschool.
- Worship Leadership
Lead, co-lead, or organize high school worship team and a middle school worship team, when possible. Mentor student worship leaders.
- Administrative Oversight
Manage the campus ministry budget and support broader Student Life initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Training
-
- Bachelors degree in ministry, theology, counseling, student development, leadership, or a related field.
Knowledge & Experience
-
- Succesful experience in youth ministry, discipleship programming, education, or related leadership roles.
- Understanding of Christian spiritual formation practices and student development
- Demonstrated ability to disciple students using Scripture and from a Biblical Worldview.
Skills & Abilities

- A mature, acitve, and visible Christian faith, able to share the Gospel clearly in word and action.
- Strong organizational, communication, and public relations skills.
- Ability to lead groups, mentor students, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Basic counseling skills and the ability to provide Christ-centered care.
- Teachable, humble, and able to work independently with initiative.
- Able to integrate biblical worldview into all areas of leadership.
- Strong judgement, confidentiality, and critical thinking skills.
