As we enter an exciting new chapter of institutional growth, LCA is launching a comprehensive campaign to expand our campus, invest in outstanding faculty, and enrich our academic and extracurricular programs. We are seeking a mission-driven, strategic, and relational leader to serve as our Director of Philanthropy and steward this next season of advancement.
Position Overview
The Director of Philanthropy is a senior leadership position responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of all development and fundraising efforts at LCA. This individual will lead a growing advancement team, including oversight of a dedicated Alumni Relations Manager.
The Head of Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in driving a multi-year comprehensive campaign that supports capital expansion, faculty development, and programmatic innovation. This leader will cultivate a culture of generosity aligned with the school’s Christian mission, foster deep relationships with donors and stakeholders, and serve as a trusted member of the school’s senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Campaign Management
Develop and execute a multi-year strategic fundraising plan, including the design and implementation of a comprehensive capital campaign.
Collaborate with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and campaign leadership to set goals, timelines, and priorities.
Oversee relationship with the external fundraising consulting firm, ensuring alignment and accountability.
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
Build and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects; personally cultivate and solicit gifts.
Foster a culture of stewardship, gratitude, and engagement across the donor community.
Partner with school leadership to identify strategic funding opportunities that align with donor interests.
Team Leadership
Supervise and support the Alumni Relations Manager, ensuring strong engagement with alumni of all ages.
Lead and grow the development team as needed to support campaign and annual giving goals.
Collaborate cross-departmentally with admissions, communications, and finance to support advancement initiatives.
Campaign Communications & Events
Work with internal and external partners to develop compelling case statements and campaign materials.
Oversee campaign-related events, donor recognition opportunities, and engagement strategies.
Collaborate with Director of Finance to manage fund accounting and budget of restricted funds.
Ensure Development & Advancement Team tracks pledge payments and mailing of payment reminders to donors.
Produce all donor reports, including any annual reports for grants and reports for receipt of public funds.
