Description
Lancaster County Christian School is seeking Early Childhood and Elementary Teachers. Our team is filled with teachers who are passionate about Christ, teaching, excellence and leadership, and eager to invest in our mission to glorify God as a community of faith and learning, dedicated to forming disciples of Jesus Christ. LCCS teachers equip students with knowledge and skills necessary to pursue their calling as mature responsible Christians.
Requirements
Reports To: Early Childhood & Lower School Principal
Department: Faculty
Full time; Exempt
Responsibilities
Model Christ-like character and actively disciple students with the intention of bearing fruit in their lives
Exhibit the fruit of the Spirit in their relationships with all members of the LCCS community
Adhere to the policies in the faculty handbook or communicated through the admin team
Develop learning experiences that are in accord with LCCS mission statement, emphasizing integration with the Word of God while employing a variety of teaching methods
Review and develop class curriculum on an ongoing basis
Maintain an orderly classroom atmosphere using consistent, kind, and firm discipline
Work closely with parents and respond promptly to emails, phone calls, etc.
Attend faculty devotions and all faculty scheduled meetings
Participate in relevant professional development opportunities and in-service meetings offered
Attend appropriate evening school functions (including MS/US overnight class trips)
Maintain accurate and current student progress, grades and attendance records
Evaluate student progress and grading consistent with LCCS mission
Maintain lesson plans which include long-range objectives as well as daily schedules
Provide adequate direction for a substitute teacher in the event of absence
Achieve and maintain proper teacher certification by ACSI
Abide by the faculty arrival and departure times
Assume responsibility for the books, materials, equipment, and supplies provided by LCCS
Plan class field trips that enhance the academic and spiritual development of the students
Utilize current technology that supports and enhances course objectives
Perform non-teaching duties as assigned
Requirements
Strong testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
Possess a BA from an accredited institution
Passion for excellence in the teaching profession, always pursuing improvement
Approachable, cheerful demeanor with students, parents, and colleagues
Superior oral and written skills
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and G Suite)
Strong administrative and organization skills
