Position Summary
The Elementary School Principal serves as the administrator and educational leader for the staff and students in Pre-K through 6th grade. The principal is responsible for implementing and managing the policies and procedures established by the School Board and the Head of School to ensure that the vision, mission, and core values of Holy Grove Christian School are realized in the daily operations of the elementary school.
The principal must communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents and shall work under the supervision of the Head of School in the areas of:

Position Summary

Professional Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience
Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience
Graduate degree in Christian school administration preferred
Possess or be pursuing ACSI Administrator Certification
Successful completion of a background check

Primary Responsibilities
I. Research
Identify problem areas within the school and determine appropriate solutions
Assist teachers in identifying and resolving instructional and classroom challenges
Maintain knowledge of accreditation requirements and procedures
Oversee curriculum for Pre-K through 6th grade, ensuring academic excellence within a Biblical worldview
II. Supervision
Encourage continued improvement in teaching techniques
Encourage and support staff in their Christian witness
Make frequent classroom visits
Conduct written evaluations of all teachers annually
Encourage teachers to pursue graduate studies in appropriate fields
Encourage teachers to actively participate in their church fellowship and activities
Conduct and oversee faculty meetings and lead ongoing professional development for staff to support instructional growth and school improvement
Assist in interviewing prospective teachers in conjunction with the Personnel Committee and Head of School
Implement and maintain a constructive disciplinary process
Oversee annual standardized testing
Ensure accurate and complete cumulative student records
Promote harmony and unity among staff members
Review and approve school trips and extracurricular activities, ensuring proper supervision and student safety
Meet regularly with grade-level teams to strengthen communication
Ensure a safe and orderly educational environment that encourages Christ-like behavior
Immediately notify the Head of School and appropriate authorities when there is evidence of child abuse, neglect, substance abuse, or potential suicide
Attend administrative team meetings
Assist teachers in acquiring and maintaining ACSI certification
Interview incoming elementary families and review student testing and placement
III. Public Relations
Communicate regularly with parents to build cooperative relationships that support the mission of the school
Provide prompt and professional attention to concerns and complaints
IV. Finance
Work cooperatively with the Head of School and Business Manager to establish the annual budget
Operate responsibly within the approved budget
