The International Academy of Suriname is seeking a motivated and qualified Elementary teacher to join our team. You will work closely with students, families, and teachers to provide support and guidance for academic, spiritual and socio-emotional development. Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, impactful lessons that align with the school's curriculum and meet the diverse needs of all students.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues to support growth.
• Encourage students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, fostering intellectual curiosity and independence.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Monitor and assess student progress, communicating achievements and areas for improvement to students and parents.
• Work with students, specialists, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans, independent study programs, and academic remediation plans as needed.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of student academic performance and disciplinary actions.
• Commit to continuous professional development, enhancing knowledge and teaching skills to better serve students.
• Model intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and self-discipline in the classroom, setting an example of competence, honesty, responsibility, and respect for others.
• Adhere to the school's policies and directives, working collaboratively with the Director, staff, parents, and the broader community to achieve the school’s mission.

Requirements

• Holding a university Bachelor degree in Elementary Education, preferably obtained at a Christian teaching college in the US or Canada
• Native English speaker
