Handong International School (HIS) is inviting applications from Christian teachers for an elementary teacher position.

Who Are We?
HIS is a Christian alternative school accredited by the Korean Ministry of Education which is located on the Handong Global University campus in Pohang, South Korea. HIS serves Korean students and students of diverse cultural backgrounds, including children of missionaries, from 1st through 12th grades. HIS employs an English immersion or English and Korean dual language program. The mission of HIS is to nurture students to become Kingdom agents serving in multicultural contexts of the world by providing them Biblically founded academic, character, and global education. Faculty Group: International Faculty
Responsibilities: Homeroom teacher and related responsibilities
Subjects to teach: Bible, English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science

Working Conditions
Contract period: March 1, 2026 ~ February 28, 2027 (Slightly adjustable, Renewable upon performance evaluation)
Working hours: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (Monday ~ Friday)
Standard weekly class hours: 20 class hours
Class length: 40 minutes
Class size: About 20 students
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Commensurate with academic qualifications and full-time employment experience

Qualifications
To be considered for the position, the applicant is expected to:
Be committed to Christ and Christian Education
Be passionate about teaching and working in a multicultural context
Be a native speaker of English who is eligible to teach in South Korea
Meet one of the following conditions:
- F2~F6 : Overseas Korean, descendent of an overseas Korean, spouse of a Korean citizen, permanent resident in South Korea
-> Hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field (teacher certificate preferred)
- E7 : Hold a bachelor’s degree and have more than 2 years of work experience in a related field, Hold a teaching certificate issued by a country or state to teach elementary students
Procedure
Stage 1
Send (1) HIS Teacher Application (Please use the file provided.) and (2) a cover letter to recruit@his.sc.kr . Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Applicants selected for Stage 2 will be contacted individually.
Stage 2
Prepare the following materials and submit them electronically to recruit@his.sc.kr (Those with an asterisk (*) must be sent to HIS in hard copy on request. Diplomas, degrees, transcripts, and certificates/licenses must be official.):

Copies of degrees and transcripts*
A copy of your passport* or alien registration card*
[If applicable] A copy of any certificate and/or license related to teaching*
Interview: During the interview about a 10-minute teaching demonstration will be requested.
The result will be notified individually.
Falsifying any information or plagiarism on essays may result in denial of your employment.
