Valley Christian School
Valley Christian School is seeking dedicated and passionate Elementary Classroom Teachers for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. We are looking for educators who are called by God to the teaching profession and are committed to fostering both academic excellence and spiritual maturity in their students.
Position Overview
The Elementary Teacher at Valley Christian School is responsible for creating a flexible, nurturing, and spirit-filled classroom environment. Under the direction of the Administrator/Principal, the teacher serves as a Christian role model, guiding students in their pursuit of knowledge and their growth as responsible followers of Christ.
Core Qualifications
Spiritual: Must be a born-again believer with a biblical worldview, a member of an evangelical church, and a lifestyle that reflects Christ-like character.
Educational: A Bachelor’s degree is required. Possession of a valid teaching certificate is preferred.
Professional: Must be willing to attain and maintain ACSI and/or State Certification.
Commitment: All applicants must sign the Valley Christian School Statement of Faith.
Key Responsibilities
1. Spiritual Leadership & Nurture
Integrate biblical principles into all subjects and aspects of the curriculum.
Model a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and action.
Motivate students toward salvation and a deeper faith, acting as a counselor and mentor.
Apply the Matthew 18 principle when resolving conflicts with students, parents, or staff.
2. Instructional Excellence
Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the school’s Christian philosophy.
Utilize differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning modalities and needs of all students.
Maintain accurate student records and utilize school management software (e.g., FACTS) for grading and communication.
Assess student progress frequently against established norms and provide timely feedback on assignments and tests.
Familiar with Abeka, BJU Press, and Positive Action curriculum preferred
3. Classroom Management & Environment
Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Establish clear, fair, and consistent rules for behavior in the classroom.
Display student-generated work and ensure a clutter-free, organized space.
4. Professionalism & Collaboration
Recognize parents as the primary educators and maintain consistent, professional communication with them.
Participate in curriculum planning, faculty meetings, and professional development seminars.
Cooperate with administration in implementing school policies and procedures.
Supervise extra-curricular activities and student-teachers/volunteers as assigned.
Be professional in appearance, modeling cleanliness, modesty, and good taste as a representative to the community.

Spiritual Standards:
Must be a born-again believer with a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
Must maintain a lifestyle that is "above reproach" and reflects a biblical world and life view.
Active membership, regular attendance, and scriptural tither at an evangelical church.
Willingness to sign and adhere to the school’s Statement of Faith and the Matthew 18 principle for conflict resolution.
Education & Certification:
Degree: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Certification: Possession of a valid teaching certificate is highly preferred.
Professional Standing: Ability to attain and maintain ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and/or State Certification.
Skills & Abilities:
Instructional Expertise: Proficiency in lesson planning, differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
Communication: Excellent command of oral and written English with clear articulation.
Technology: Proficient in using school management software (such as FACTS) for grading, attendance, and parent communication.
Physical & Personal Demands:
Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and "clutter-free" classroom environment.
Emotional stability and the ability to meet everyday stress with objectivity and optimism.
Commitment to placing the teaching ministry above outside volunteer work or secondary employment.
