Description
The Christian English School of Torino (CES-to) is a small start-up school in Torino, ITALY (Northwest Italy, near the Alps). CES-to is a TeachBeyond Family School, and the Head of School will need to be or become a TeachBeyond member. As a small start-up, the Head of School will possibly also have some part-time teaching responsibilities. This position is ideal for a teacher with international experience who is wanting to begin to move into a higher leadership role. The administrative, governmental and family relationship responsibilities will be assisted by an Italian-speaking local administrator on staff with the school.
An entrepreneurial leader with a desire to start small and build strong for generations is the ideal type of person for this job. This is a missionary position, and therefore, it will be necessary to be self-funded or raise the necessary financial support through a mission agency. The Head of School will be responsible for leading and managing a small staff of about 10 people (some full-time and some part-time teachers). Development of detailed learning objectives and curriculum for each educational level will be necessary, as well as initiate the process of obtaining ACSI accreditation.
School Description: The school will be serving children from pre-K into the primary years with the intention of increasing years annually, eventually serving children pre-K through 12. CES-to tries to apply Montessori principles in the earlier years with a gradual shift toward a classical educational format as the years progress. As a small school, multi-level learning will at times be necessary. The anticipated student / teacher ratio is about five with additional assistants and volunteers.
Location: Torino is a city of about one million people located in northwestern Italy near the Italian alps. Italy is a very challenging spiritual environment with very few evangelical Christians (about 1%) and there are no Biblically-oriented Christian schools in all of northwestern Italy, and very few in all of Italy. United with TeachBeyond, CES-to is pioneering Christian education in Italy. CES-to will be serving the entire evangelical Christian community of Torino. There is also a large number of immigrants in Italy, primarily from South America, Romania, Albania, China, Morocco and other parts of Africa. While CES-to will focus on the evangelical Christian community, others who are non-religious, Catholic or from other religions are invited to send their children, provided they are not opposed to the Biblical content and perspectives that will be incorporated into the CES-to curriculum and character training.

Salary and Benefits: This is a missionary / self-funded position. Missionary teachers will need to work through a mission agency for their financial support and expenses. The school will provide assistance in locating a residence and a housing allowance, assistance in obtaining a visa and the proper legal documents for Italian residence, language acquisition and cultural adjustment / adaptation.

Requirements
Master’s degree in educational administration and ACSI certification necessary. Candidates can be working toward these requirements at the time of hiring. A strong Christian faith and vibrant relationship with the Lord are necessary, as well as the ability to effectively lead, teach and motivate educational staff. The Head of School is a missionary position, and therefore will need to be self-funded or receive his/her financial support through a missionary agency, perhaps needing to raise the necessary support through the mission agency. Organizational skills and leadership, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit, are ideal. Experience in ACSI accreditation is ideal.
