Known throughout the State of Florida for its outstanding academics and extra-curricular programs, Northside Christian School (NCS) is a Christ-Centered, fully accredited (Cognia and ACSI) School of Excellence. An open enrollment philosophy encourages families with diverse backgrounds to attend NCS and be influenced by Biblical principles. The school is an educational ministry of Northside Baptist Church and God’s Word is the bedrock for all that NCS represents (II Timothy 3:16-17). With the goal of providing a safe, nurturing environment, NCS develops students to reach their full potential in academics, athletics, and fine arts within a Christ-centered environment.

NCS is located on a 28-acre campus in St. Petersburg, Florida just fifteen minutes from the warm, calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The school has been educating students from preschool through 12th grade since 1971. During the 2022-23 academic year, NCS operated on a $10M budget and served a total student body of 860

Since its founding in 1971, Northside Christian School has grown to become one of the larger Christian schools in the St. Petersburg/Tampa area. With an enrollment of 860 students (K-12), and committed staff, faculty, and administration, NCS is ready to step forward into an era of bold intentionality and refinement. The NCS School Board now seeks a Head of School to lead the school organization toward an environment of deliberate, proactive, and strategic growth.

Requirements

To maintain and stabilize current growing enrollment trends, the new Head of School will need to provide vigorous and consistent leadership by modeling the mission and communicating NCS’ value proposition to all current school constituents and to prospective families that encourage curiosity and deeper exploration into Christian education. NCS has an evangelical, open-enrollment philosophy that clearly promotes Christian growth through the platform of education. As such, the Head of School must be a spiritually mature Christian leader able to articulate a compelling vision for the integration of faith and learning and the future development of the school. This leader must fully embrace the intentional Christian mission of NCS, have a distinct calling to love and serve its students and be able to stoke a spiritual vibrancy on the NCS campus.
