Head of School Job Description
Overview
Columbus Christian Academy seeks a visionary, Christ-centered Head of School to lead the school in fulfilling its mission of providing a Christ-centered, Bible-based education that promotes spiritual growth, academic excellence, and servant-leadership. The Head of School will oversee daily operations while developing and stewarding a long-term vision for sustainable growth and development.
Primary Function
The Head of School is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Columbus Christian Academy as well as nurturing a long-term vision for the school’s successful growth and development.
Provide strategic, operational, spiritual, and educational leadership that integrates a biblical worldview across all aspects of school life.
Working Relationships
The Head of School should maintain healthy relationships with:
All employees/staff under his/her leadership.
CCA students and their families.
School board members.
Other stakeholders of CCA including church partners, donors, and community leaders.
Qualifications
Beliefs: Demonstrates a mature faith in Jesus Christ as a born-again believer and is an active member in good standing at an evangelical church; able to clearly uphold and communicate CCA’s doctrinal positions including the authority of Scripture and the person and work of Christ.
Education: Minimum Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or equivalent.
Certification: Must be eligible for ACSI administrative credentials.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience required; 2+ years of administrative experience preferred but not required.
Additional: Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Execute the mission and vision of the school.
Ensure Biblical integration in every area of CCA life: academic, athletic, and extra-curricular.
Be a model of servant leadership to the CCA school family, staff, and students.
Sustain and strengthen a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and spiritual formation.
Hire, mentor, evaluate, and develop faculty and staff to support instructional excellence and spiritual growth.
Possess exceptional organizational, supervisory, delegating, communication, and people skills.
Plan and manage budgeted funds and participate in fundraising and resource development efforts.
Provide leadership in maintaining and advancing school accreditation with MSAIS and ACSI.
Promote continual and sustainable school improvement through data-informed decision making and strategic planning.
Oversee student life, discipline, and support systems to ensure holistic care—spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional.
Maintain a safe and secure school environment at all times.
Represent CCA publicly and cultivate relationships with parents, churches, alumni, donors, and the local community.
Be comfortable with current technology and able to navigate platforms such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and FACTS SIS.

Finalists will participate in interviews with the CCA Head of School Search Committee (consisting of members from the Board and other key stakeholder groups) and must complete a background check.
