Darren Patterson Christian Academy (DPCA) is a Christ-centered, expeditionary, 4 day a week school located in Buena Vista, CO that serves Preschool-8th grade. The mission of DPCA is to “guide students in knowledge, character, and faith to discover an authentic love of learning and a life of opportunity.” This goal is what drives our staff daily. DPCA is seeking a Head of School to continue this mission and sustain growth in order to best serve our local mountain community.

Requirements:   

- Clear, well-articulated Christian testimony and lifestyle, as well as evidence of consistent good moral character
        
- Agreement with DPCA’s vision, mission, purposes, philosophy of education and Statement of Faith (please refer to https://www.dpcaweb.org/employment)
        
- Minimum, a Bachelors Degree, preferred with a focus on education. Masters Degree in Education/Organizational Leadership/etc preferred
        
- Experience or familiarity with expeditionary style learning
        
- Previous experience working in a school or non-profit, preferably in an administrative or leadership role

- Continuing to lead the school towards further expeditionary style learning practices through developing excellence in academic, outdoor, and cultural expeditions in each classroom
        
- Continuing to lead the school towards a culture and curriculum that is distinctly Christ-Centered

- Providing fiscal leadership and accountability while driving fundraising efforts
   

Additional Responsibilities Include:

Managing facilities, leading Board meetings, providing spiritual leadership, facilitating professional development opportunities, overseeing curriculum development, managing marketing efforts, talent recruitment and management, and providing overall visionary leadership for the school’s future.
