Description
Northside Christian Academy is seeking to add a dynamic, full-time College and Career Counselor. The candidate must be able to effectively manage tasks associated with the department and build and maintain relationships. The candidate must also demonstrate excellence in planning, teamwork, communication, and have a strong work ethic.

Requirements and General Responsibilities
The primary function of the Guidance and Career Counselor is to provide a comprehensive counseling program focused on the learning, personal/social and career/vocational needs of all students. The counselor will utilize leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students.
Qualifications
- Be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and be in agreement, live by, and support publicly with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life of Northside Christian Academy.
- Agrees, supports publicly and has a commitment to the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of Christian schooling as expressed by Northside Christian Academy demonstrated by their eligible children enrolled in Northside Christian Academy.
- A bachelor’s degree is required. MA/MS in school counseling or related field is preferred.
- In agreement, live by and supports publicly the Northside Christian Academy Statement of Faith.
- Active member/regular attendee of a Bible believing church and committed to growth in a Biblical Worldview.
- Agrees, lives by and supports publicly the mission of NCA.
- Demonstrated knowledge of biblical counseling procedures, student appraisal and career development.
- Ability to obtain or currently holds ACSI Certification.
Professional Profile:
- Proven ability to work in a leadership role that interacts with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, and parents.
- Maintains confidentiality of all staff, students, and families.
- Monitor physical, psychological, social and spiritual status of all students in routine visits with them. Guide them with the Word of God and pray with them.
- Schedule counseling sessions with students when needed.
- Characterized by integrity.
- Demonstrates consistent spiritual leadership.
- Demonstrates excellence in written and verbal communication.
- Models Christ-like behavior in word and behavior both in and out of the school.
- Be aware of the social agencies that can be helpful to the student. Refer students to outside professionals when warranted.
- Help administration to plan and host parent seminars to counterculture and help with issues that students battle.
- Yearlong contract with 4 weeks off in the summer.
