Description
The IT Director serves as the steward of all technology systems for a PK–12 Christian school, ensuring that technology supports excellent academic instruction, effective operations, and the school’s mission to provide education consistent with Biblical truth and honoring the name of Christ. The IT Director manages infrastructure, systems, security, and support while modeling Christlike character, professionalism, and servant leadership.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership for all school technology systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across PK–12.
Manage and maintain all hardware, software, networks, servers, devices, and instructional technology used by students, faculty, and staff.
Oversee student and staff device programs, including setup, deployment, maintenance, inventory, and replacement cycles.
Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with applicable laws and best practices, including student information systems and staff records.
Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to align technology with curriculum goals, instructional needs, and school initiatives.
Provide timely, professional technical support and troubleshooting for faculty, staff, and students.
Train and support staff in effective and appropriate use of instructional and administrative technology.
Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, licensing, and technology budgets responsibly.
Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures related to technology use, security, and acceptable use.
Support school-wide communication systems, classroom technology, and digital learning platforms.
Plan for future technology needs and innovations that enhance learning while remaining developmentally appropriate.
Maintain a safe, well-organized, and efficient technology environment.
Uphold confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.

IT Director Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise combined with a heart for Christian education. Requirements include:
A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the school’s statement of faith.
A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrated experience managing networks, systems, and devices in an educational or comparable organizational setting.
Strong knowledge of hardware, operating systems, cloud-based platforms, security practices, and data management.
Experience supporting instructional technology and learning management systems in a PK–12 environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
High standards for confidentiality, integrity, and ethical conduct.
Emotional stability, reliability, and excellent attendance.
A servant-leader mindset, viewing service to the school as a calling from God.
