- Learning Support Coordinator
Description
Role Specific Responsibilities:
Oversee the learning support department and staff
Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop intervention plans or IEP
Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s ability
Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
Update IEPs on an annual basis to reflect students’ progress and goals
Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, and administrators
Lead, supervise, evaluate and mentor the learning support team in their given roles (para- professionals, LS teachers, ELL teachers)
Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and after graduation
Lead the Students With Intervention Team (RTI) and process
Collaborate on training for teachers in professional development settings
Coordinate with subcontractors for outside testing purposes
Assess students with special needs during the admission process and provide feedback to the admission committee.
Conduct Learning Support Teacher observations and evaluations annually for direct reports
Update and support the Learning Support Policy

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Passion for serving God in the context of education
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education
At least 2 years of Learning Support Coordinator experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Special Education or Education
Three or more years of successful teaching experience
Prior leadership experience
Prior experience developing and implementing IEPs
Prior experience in an international school
Understanding of Common Core Standards
Experience with English Language Learners
Experience working with students with special needs
Diagnostician credentials or other testing credentials
