Palmetto Christian Academy is a PK–12 Christian school serving 815 students and located in Mt. Pleasant, SC.  PCA is committed to rigorous academics, thoughtful faith integration, and meaningful student relationships. Our secondary teachers are content experts who challenge students to think critically, communicate clearly, and live faithfully. Palmetto Christian Academy is seeking a full-time Middle School English and Bible teacher who can teach English and Bible courses with a distinctly biblical worldview integrated throughout the curriculum and instruction. The candidate will demonstrate a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a passion for students, and an understanding of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching.

Requirements

• Planning, creating and implementing lessons that promote an engaging, positive and interactive learning environment. 

• Prepare, administer and evaluate tests and classroom assignments following curriculum guidelines.

• Work closely with the Upper School Instructional Coach to deliver approved curriculum.

• Work closely with the Upper School Instructional Coach to review textbooks as needed.

Perform administrative duties under the direction of the Upper School Principal to include grading, discipline, attendance, dress code management, lunch/hall/dismissal supervision.

• Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in English or English Education from an accredited university. Preferably have a minimum of two years of experience teaching English to middle or high school students, ideally in a Christian school environment.
• Possess Biblical training and understanding to walk students through the truth of God’s Word. 
• Possess or be working toward an ACSI or state certification.
  Must have a credible profession of faith and testimony, and be actively involved in a local church, as this person will serve as a role model in attitude, speech, and actions for the school community.  
• Must be able to articulate his/her Christian worldview and philosophy of Kingdom education.
• Able to implement policy and procedures of the ELA and Bible departments and school.
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must attend faculty meetings, professional development seminars, and devotions.
• Must be proficient with Google Workspace
• Must have familiarity or willingness to learn Veracross software for student management
