Description
University Christian School is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Middle School History Teacher who is dedicated to academic excellence, biblical integration, and investing in the next generation of students. This position is responsible for teaching history to 6th–8th grade students, cultivating a positive classroom environment, and supporting our mission of Truth. Tradition. Transformation.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management, engaging instructional strategies, and a heart for partnering with families in Christian education.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Middle School History curriculum (including World History, American History, Civics, and Geography depending on grade assignment).
Integrate biblical worldview principles into daily lessons and classroom discussions.
Create a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and motivated to learn.
Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and activities aligned with UCS academic standards.
Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.
Establish and maintain positive communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
Participate in school-wide events, chapel services, professional development sessions, and faculty meetings.
Maintain accurate records, attendance, and grade books according to school policies.
Collaborate with team members to support student success and uphold school-wide expectations.
Model Christlike behavior in all interactions, reflecting the mission and values of University Christian School.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Active ACSI certification or willingness to obtain certification within the required time frame.
Previous classroom teaching experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of middle school development, differentiated instruction, and classroom management techniques.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
A committed Christian who is actively growing in their faith and is in agreement with the University Church doctrine and mission.
