Description: Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is seeking a full-time 8th grade mathematics teacher. The instructional courses include Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 1 Honors. This position also includes the role of homeroom teacher committed to forming supportive relationships with students, families, and faculty to further the development of the whole child - socially, emotionally, spiritually, and academically.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Passion for the school’s mission; full agreement with MBCA’s Statement of Faith & Doctrinal Statements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education.
- Certification in middle grades or secondary mathematics.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in middle school or high school mathematics classrooms.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willing to coach a sport or other co-curricular roles such as Robotics or another club.
Unique Qualifications:
- Be innovative and enthusiastic with his or her approach to teaching and should embrace the independent school model of mentoring, advising, and supporting students outside of the classroom.
- Collaborate regularly with the math department to create units of study that are appropriate and academically rigorous.
- Understand and be able to implement a variety of instructional methods to stimulate and support students’ learning and understanding.
- Maintain an open line of communication with parents and colleagues and provide appropriate information following the Matthew 18 principle.
- Assess student performance and progress to ensure they are mastering skills on a regular basis.
- Nurture positive and encouraging relationships with students and maintain appropriate classroom management.
- Integrate Biblical truth and worldview throughout lessons and instruction.
- Understand the tools and resources available on a MacBook and Google Suite as well as experience using online learning platforms.
