Description: The Pathways Learning Center is seeking a full-time Middle School Mathematics and Executive Function teacher. The instructional courses include support for grades 6 through 8. The Pathways Learning Center is a program for students needing additional academic support, and class sizes are intentionally small with a 6:1 ratio.

Requirements:
- Passion for the school’s mission; full agreement with MBCA’s Statement of Faith & Doctrinal Statements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Special Education.
- Certification in middle grades or secondary mathematics.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in middle school or high school mathematics classrooms.
- Extensive knowledge of math concepts, including: ratios and percents, integers, expressions, equations and inequalities, geometric figures, measurement, linear functions and graphing, statistics, and probability.
- Experience and background in executive functioning, its strategies, organizational habits, and study skills.
- Willing to acquire multisensory math education, if not already obtained.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willing to coach a sport or other co-curricular roles such as Robotics or another club.

- Be innovative and enthusiastic with our targeted population of students and embrace the independent school model of mentoring, advising, and supporting students outside of the classroom.
- Understand the academic, social, and emotional needs of students who struggle with confidence in math in order to create a learning environment that meets those needs.
- Collaborate regularly with departments to create units of study that are appropriate and academically rigorous.
- Develop lesson plans and objectives that provide individualized and small group instruction that adapts to the strengths and weaknesses of the enrolled students.
- Integrate Biblical truth and worldview throughout lessons and instruction.
- Promote critical thinking skills through the use of research-based instructional practices and strategies.
- Facilitate, monitor, and assess students’ learning appropriately and effectively.
- Create and maintain a learning environment in which all students are actively engaged, are contributing members to the class, and maintain appropriate classroom management.
- Maintain an open line of communication with parents and colleagues and provide appropriate information following the Matthew 18 principle.
- Understand the tools and resources available on a Mac, Google Suite, and experience using learning platforms.
