Highlands International School (HIS) has its roots in a 2001 homeschooling program and was officially founded on February 3, 2003. Operating at an approximate altitude of 3,500 meters (11,500 ft.), HIS is an international Christian school dedicated to providing an environment of academic excellence and respect for all cultures and religions. Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimally hold a bachelor’s degree in education and/or the field of study which
he/she will be teaching (highly qualified).
2. Be stateside/provincial certified as an educator and/or be ACSI certified as a
teacher
3. Ability to work within their budget.
4. Ability to clearly communicate and represent Highlands well to the community,
families and students.
5. Ability to meet deadlines (for PowerSchool in attendance and grading; and in
personal curriculum planning).
6. Demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy, having a basic proficiency
in doing word processing, e-mailing, and accessing the internet.
7. Ability to manage the classroom and bring enthusiasm for learning to the
students.
8. Have the physical capacity to perform all teacher responsibilities.
9. A Christian with a consistent testimony among his/her family and peers.
