Description
At Dakar Academy, qualified teachers invest their time and talents to design engaging lessons that bring content to life. We are hiring a Middle School Teacher who will serve in a small, close-knit school setting and teach multiple subject areas. Please apply if you would like to teach Math, English, Social Studies, Bible, Science, or Fine Arts.
Teachers will plan, organize, and implement an approved curriculum, utilizing differentiated instruction and varied teaching techniques to create an environment of learning that follows a North American curriculum. The ideal candidate is passionate about their subject areas and committed to helping students deeply understand what they are learning as they develop lifelong learning skills.

Objectives of this Role
- Foster interdisciplinary learning and instruction according to North American curriculum standards
- Integrate a Christian worldview into course activities and assessments
- Create a classroom culture that is welcoming, positive, and rigorous
- Plan, prepare, and teach lessons that promote the academic and personal growth of all learners
- Communicate, cooperate, and consult with all stakeholders
- Build knowledge through ongoing professional development
- Create content units using the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Utilize a wide variety of teaching methods to create differentiated opportunities for deep understanding
- Assess and evaluate learner growth; create action plans at class-wide, group-wide, and individual levels based on data
- Assess, record, and report on learner development, progress, and behavior
- Collaborate with the school counselor, assistant principal, principal, ESL instructor, and special education instructor as needed
- Attend staff devotions, weekly professional development, and other scheduled PD events

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Thorough knowledge of best practices and educational guidelines

Preferred Qualifications
- State Teacher’s Certificate
- ACSI Certification
