Description
The Principal is one who is to lead the school on a day-to-day basis and must lead first, and before all things, spiritually, with a servant's heart and have a vision for the school and a passion for Christian education. The person must be willing to take the leadership role in serving the students, their parents, the faculty and staff, and the community at large in the realm of Christian education. He/she must be a keeper of the faith, while serving a multi-denominational and multi-racial student body. One must have an obvious love for children of all ages as well as a love for the families of Midwestern Christian Academy.
The Principal will be the academic and instructional leader of the school, while also providing direction and leadership in the financial and business affairs of the school. This includes leading the school in institutional advancement and development in the areas of fund raising to meet the annual budget, student recruitment and marketing, and public relations.
The Principal reports directly to the Midwestern Christian Academy School Board and ultimately to the Elder Board of Midwest Bible Church, a non-denominational, Evangelical church of which MCA is a ministry extension. MCA is recognized as a school of excellence and growth. In light of that, we are
searching for a person who can provide effective and Biblical leadership to facilitate and continue this pattern of growth. This person must be one who can not only provide that strong leadership, but at the same time love and care for the entire faculty, staff, students and their families. In addition, this person must possess strong communication skills and take on an appropriate sense of ownership of the organization as head administrator. The head administrator will be both a member of the congregation of Midwest Bible Church, and a member of the church's ministry council, where he/she will represent the school and make reports of its ministry progress.
Requirements
- The Principal/Administrator will be a born-again Christian with a mature walk of faith, whose lifestyle, convictions and beliefs are in line with Biblical mandates and the Holy Spirit.
- One who is committed to and passionate about the tenets of Christian school education.
- Agrees with and supports the constitution and bylaws of Midwest Bible Church, and is in agreement with the statement of faith and standards of conduct.
- Has earned a Master's degree in Christian Education, Education or a related field from a fully accredited university, college, or seminary.
- Currently holds or is eligible to receive a Principal's Certification from ACSI.
- Is gifted in administration and possesses Biblical leadership qualities.
- Gifted in interpersonal relationships and recognized as an effective communicator.
- Can obtain three favorable references from a pastor, supervisor and colleague.
- Can implement the MCA mission statement through their leadership.
- Coaches, encourages and manages a staff of 20 employees and a student body of 200 students in grades PK-3 through 8.
