POSITION TITLE: Science Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal
START DATE: August 2026
STATUS: Full-Time; Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
This faculty member will collaborate with the Science department to instruct students in Biology and Chemistry in accordance with the academic programs of SWCHS and its curriculum. This individual is tasked with prayerfully guiding students to develop the attitudes, skills, and knowledge necessary for them to mature as disciples of Jesus Christ who actively seek, know, live, and proclaim the truth.

Spiritual Qualities
- Vibrant Christian Faith: Candidates must possess a genuine, growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, demonstrated through a solid understanding of God's Word and active involvement in a local Bible-believing church.
- Biblical Authority: Actively support the school's Statement of Faith, believing the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God—the ultimate standard for faith and practice.
- Spiritual Maturity: Exhibit a consistent desire for spiritual growth, evidenced by prayer, Bible study, integrity of character, and bearing the fruit of the Spirit in all interactions.
- Christian Role Model: Serve as a positive Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others, including adherence to God's biblical standards for sexual conduct (Luke 6:40).
- Required Commitment: Must commit to, sign, and uphold SWCHS’s Pledge of Integrity & Biblical Morality, Statement of Faith, Vision & Values, and Social Position Statement as a condition for employment
Professional Qualities:
Preparation and Instruction
- Develop a curriculum that aligns with course learning objectives, focusing on meaningful learning experiences and considering student abilities.
- Integrate Christian philosophy of education and biblical principles across the curriculum.
- Utilize diverse instructional aids, methods, and materials to facilitate creative teaching and address the holistic development of each student (spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional).
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student grades, attendance, and progress, and communicate this information promptly to students and their families.
- Foster a positive school image by consistently maintaining professional conduct and representing the school favorably in public relations.
- Ensure the classroom environment is clean, welcoming, and well-organized.

- Demonstrate a sensitivity and ability to interact effectively with staff, parents, volunteers, and students.
- Understand the importance of discernment, discretion, and confidentiality in the operation of the classroom and school.
- Recognize his or her own mistakes and take measures to correct them.
- Make an effort to appreciate and understand the uniqueness of the community.
Supplemental Functions
- Supervise extra-curricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned.
- Lead a discipleship group (D-group).
- Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
- Provide input and constructive recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school.
- Perform other tasks or assignments that may be periodically requested by the School Administration.
Educational Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in a related field of subject being taught.
- Master’s degree preferred
Technical
- Proficient in required technology including but not limited to classroom management software (Blackbaud, Google Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and internet)
Salary & Benefits
- $46,800 - $79,040 average range; actual salary based on number of classes taught and candidate’s education & experience.
