Description

Summary: Seeking a qualified Single Subject Teacher for each subject area (ELA/Social Studies/Math/Science) who can instruct and facilitate learning in accordance with curriculum, policies, and school’s mission statement. The Single Subject Teacher must be able to guide students in educational activities that promote intellectual and social growth. Experience is preferred, but not required. Furnished housing, rent, airfare and an additional stipend are provided. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Teaches approved curriculum while creating a classroom and total school environment that is conducive to learning.
• Prepares long term and medium term planning, as required.
• Plans and prepares activities, schemes of work and individual lessons, appropriate to the needs, interests, experience and existing knowledge of the students in their class.
• Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
• Recognizes the special needs of students and makes appropriate individualized physical and instructional accommodations within the classroom and seeks assistance as needed.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments which creates a stimulating learning experience and guides the learning process towards academic achievement and curriculum goals.
• Assists administration in implementing all rules and policies regarding student life and conduct. Promotes an understanding of the school's values and develops and informs students of reasonable rules concerning classroom procedures and behavior.
• Maintains a safe and orderly classroom environment, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students at all times.
• Develops relationships with students that are conducive to high standards of learning and maintains high levels of respect between students and staff by promoting an understanding of the school's values.
• Effectively monitors the academic progress of students by regularly assessing students’ work and communicates progress with students and their parents when required.
• Assesses the achievement/accomplishments of students in a variety of ways on a regular basis and provides timely progress reports.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of student attendance, achievement, and behavior.
• Fulfills duties of homeroom teacher for a specific class group.
• Attends staff meetings and staff trainings and school events.

Requirements

Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelor or master degree from an accredited university.
• Experience with secondary students.
• Successful completion of overseas training requirements

Certificate, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid teaching license in appropriate grade level and area of study required.
• Background check.
