Trinity Christian Academy is seeking 2026-2027 applicants for our Student Support Services program who are knowledgeable, caring, and empathetic to the needs of students with learning differences and disabilities. An Elementary Student Support Services Teacher works with K-6th grade students in a pull-out program to provide accommodations and academic support to students with learning differences and disabilities.
Qualifications:
Reading Skills: competency in teaching emergent or struggling readers
Mathematical Skills: mastery of mathematics through sixth grade
Language Skills: strong written and verbal communication skills
Technology Skills: able to use Google G Suite, various educational apps/programs, iPads, and Chromebooks
Reasoning Ability: able to initiate tasks, plan, and problem solve
Personal Skills: Prompt, team player, flexible, organized, intuitive, calming, cheerful, adaptable
Working knowledge of students with learning differences and disabilities
Ability to plan differentiated lessons
Strong time management skills
Evidence of an authentic and active Christian walk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructs students in all content areas with a special focus in reading and math
Implements RTI/MTSS and maintains necessary documentation
Creates differentiated lesson plans
Provides testing accommodations
Collaborates with staff and parents to determine student needs and progress goals
Maintains communication with parents and staff
Teaches during the school day and in after school help class
Uses teaching methods based on student learning styles/needs
Encourages a growth mindset with students
Performs other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Reading endorsement required (can be obtained after hire)
Degree in Special Education or related field preferred
At least one-year experience working with students with learning differences and disabilities preferred
