Polk County Christian School is an organization focused on Christ and His Word.  We desire for our teachers to provide a challenging curriculum that assists students in pursuit of excellence academically and spiritually.

Requirements

Teachers at Polk County Christian School are to live and teach in a way that honors and glorifies God.

Requirements:

Publicly profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior

Engage in the ministry of PCCS and a local church

Pursue a life of godliness

Believe and support our school's statement of faith  

Responsibilities:

Integrate Biblical worldview into lessons and objectives

Demonstrate knowledge of students learning styles, personalities, and educational needs 

Collaborates with other teachers

Effectively manage a classroom by establishing appropriate procedures

Exercise appropriate discipline with a redemptive goal

Organize the physical space of the classroom to maximize instructional effectiveness

Engage students in learning, including recognition of various learning styles

Maintain accurate and timely records

Provide formative feedback to students

Professionally contribute to the school community 

Other duties as assigned by the administration

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree required

Previous classroom experience preferred

Maintain a valid Missouri Department of teaching certificate or license in assigned field

Ability to take initiative, work independently, and hold oneself accountable 

Willingness to work with others and collaborate with staff

Able to take direction, receive suggestions and be challenged
