Position Overview

Lakeland Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-time Spanish Teacher who is committed to Christian education and academic excellence. This position offers the opportunity to inspire students in language acquisition while integrating biblical worldview principles into instruction. This role would primarily focus on teaching Spanish I for grades 7th-9th and Spanish enrichment electives for Middle School students.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction using the Understanding by Design (UbD) planning framework
• Cultivate unit plans that emphasize enduring understandings, essential questions, and authentic assessments
• Integrate biblical worldview and Christian principles into Spanish language and cultural instruction
• Develop curriculum that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity
• Foster students' spiritual growth while building language proficiency
• Create a classroom environment that reflects grace, truth, and Christ-centered community
• Assess and monitor student progress toward language learning goals
• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to promote integrated learning experiences
• Participate in school chapel services, professional development, and community activities

Requirements

Educational & Professional

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, World Languages, Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Florida
• Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish language (speaking, reading, writing, listening)
• Experience with Understanding by Design (UbD) curriculum planning framework
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills

• Active membership in a Bible-believing church
• Passion for integrating biblical worldview into academic instruction

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience at the secondary level with experience in grades 7th-9th
• Experience teaching in a Christian school setting
• Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency
• Background or interest in teaching Bible or Social Studies
• Knowledge of World Language Standards and proficiency-based instruction
