- Work Cycle and Special Area Elementary Teacher
Description
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Elementary Teacher who loves the Lord and who loves working with children to join our educational staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and assisting multi-aged students in foundational subjects, including phonics, grammar, writing, handwriting, geography, and math in our unique environment. The teacher must be detail oriented and possess strong classroom instruction for students of varying ages and abilities and be able to create a fun, engaging and supportive work cycle environment that fosters academic growth, encourages creativity, strong social skills, and helps students develop essential skills for both academic and spiritual growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate and teach multi-age students during a work cycle class that allows students to complete and engage in activities assigned by their classroom teacher.
Provide individualized support to students to ensure understanding of key concepts and completion of assignments.
Monitor and assess student progress during their work cycle time and clearly communicate with the classroom teacher those observations.
Knowledge and ability to use a variety of teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students during work cycle.
Maintain excellent classroom management, promoting a respectful and productive learning environment.
Ensure students are working at a productive pace during their time in Work Cycle.
Manage subject area work times so students are giving each area the same amount of time and energy (i.e., ELA=50 mins, Math=50 mins).
Foster creativity and critical thinking through the hands-on activities, group work, and lessons that the math and language arts teachers have planned each day.
Establish positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence and a love of learning and of our Lord.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Committed relationship with Jesus Christ through daily disciplines including gathering regularly with the church family.
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, have taught in a Montessori institution at the Elementary level OR have been a homeschool teacher during the elementary years of your children’s education.
Proven experience in teaching elementary-level students, with a focus on phonics, grammar, writing, handwriting, geography, and math.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, engaging and respectful learning environment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Creative and innovative with planned activities and teaching methods.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse students.
The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues that is filled with grace, love and humility.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners, including those with varying levels of academic achievement.
Familiarity with educational technology tools to enhance learning and instruction.
Ability and desire to implement God’s word and His teachings into daily interaction with our students, families and staff.
