Sussex Christian School—Advancement Officer—Part Time (Partially Remote)
Job Description: The Advancement Officer reports to the Administrator and is responsible for leading and executing the school's donor development efforts to support its mission and operations. This role will cultivate and steward relationships with donors, identify new philanthropic support opportunities, and manage the school's donor development programs.
Responsibilities:
Donor development strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive donor development strategy aligned with the school's mission and goals. Donor cultivation: Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations, and other potential supporters. Grant writing: Research and write grant proposals to secure funding from foundations and government agencies. Donor database management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor database. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on donor development activities and progress toward goals. Coordination and support: Collaborate with Board of Directors, Committees, school staff and volunteers to support donor development efforts.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, marketing, or a related field. Proven track record in donor development, preferably in a nonprofit or educational setting. Knowledge of non-profit donor development best practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Grant writing experience. Microsoft 365 and donor development software experience. Passion for the mission and vision of Sussex Christian School. Active participant in a Christian church.
