Requirements
1. To teach subjects as assigned by the Primary Director
Maintaining an inviting classroom environment that is conducive to learning
Facilitate instruction and learning activities that cater to the academic, emotional, social, and physical needs of the students
Use educational technology in ways that enhance student learning
Employ strategies of effective classroom management
Keep accurate electronic records in an orderly and timely manner for each class such as lesson plans, grades, attendance, textbooks etc.
Be prepared to meet with the parents of students to discuss needs/performance
Cooperate with the Student Support Team in implementing assigned accommodations initiated for students in learning support
2. To maintain a professional demeanor in the carrying out of all duties.
Arrive at school 15 minutes prior to first duty
Promptly begin classes on time
Dress in business casual attire
Maintain a neat, organized, and inviting classroom that is conducive to learning
Welcome visitors in the classroom (new student, parents, guests, etc)
Communicate with students, parents, other staff, administration, and the community
Represent CCA in a professional way at all times
3. To fulfill non-teaching duties as requested by the Primary School Director.
Duty assignments like student arrival and dismissal duty, recess and lunch duty, etc
Cover for fellow teachers from time to time
Attend and participate in scheduled meetings assigned by the Primary School Director or Vice Director, Academic Director, or Director General
4. To participate in all aspects of school safety as indicated in the Administrative Manuals.
Carry out all duties in compliance with CCA's child protection policy
Know and be prepared to implement soft lockdown and emergency evacuation routines
5. To participate in CCA activities.
Be prepared to plan and supervise activities as needed both during the school day and non-school hours
Participate in all primary school special events including: Field Trips, Fall Festival, International Day, Tunisia Day, Concerts/Productions, Etc.
6. To cooperate in a Professional Development program.
Cooperate with the Primary School Director in a yearly performance assessment
Attend Professional Development Days and Workshops at CCA
Teachers in their first year of teaching will take part in a coaching program in order to support them as they grow into their profession and to help make their year successful
Each fall, faculty will identify 3-5 personal and professional goals for the year. They will perform a brief self-evaluation of their progress in these areas mid-year and at the end of the school year with the Primary School Director
7. To fulfill year-end responsibilities
Clean classroom at the end of the school year
Take all personal belongings with you and return the school key to the Primary School Director upon final departure
