Description:
The Middle/High School Math/STEM/Robotics teacher will collaborate with a dynamic team of educators to provide project-based learning experiences for 7th-12th grade students to meet the needs of a 21st-century learner. The STEM teacher will provide engaging learning experiences that promote student creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
The teacher may be required to teach one-three high school math classes in addition to STEM classes.
The teacher will also be responsible for sponsoring the school’s competitive robotics team.

Affirm that he/she is a “born again” Christian who has received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23) Give testimony that he/she has a sense of God’s calling to teach at Dayspring Christian Academy for the contracted school year (Romans 12:6-8) Demonstrate by precept and example the highest Christian virtue and personal integrity, serving as a Christian role model, both in and out of school, to students (Luke 6:40), parents, fellow staff members, and others (Colossians 3:17; Titus 2:7-8; 1 Thessalonians 5:18, 22-23; 1 Timothy 4:12) Faithfully fellowship at a local church whose teachings are in agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith
General Responsibilities
Deliver STEM-oriented instruction through project-based learning methods Create a learning environment based on the 4 C’s- communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity Attends professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of STEM initiatives and curriculum. Determines the best resources, options, and innovations that will optimize the learning experience for students and staff. Cooperate with the administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school. Integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities. Maintain effective classroom management Utilize valid teaching techniques to achieve academic goals within the framework of the school’s philosophy. Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records Keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies and give sufficient notice of failure. Represent the school favorably and professionally to the school’s constituency and the general public. Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration. Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with conflict with students, parents, staff, and administration. Seek the counsel of the administrator, colleagues, and parents while maintaining a teachable attitude. Attend and participate in scheduled professional development days, team meetings, and parent-teacher meetings, and/or conferences. Know the procedures for dealing with emergencies. Inform the administration promptly if unable to fulfill any duty assigned. Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher. Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the administration.
Special Qualifications
BS/BA required State teaching certification preferred, but not required Must be ACSI certified or willing and able to attain ACSI certification Demonstrate knowledge of Colorado State Standards and other applicable learning standards Proven ability to apply science and/or math content knowledge and technology integration at a high level. Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise Demonstrate expertise in oral and written communication
