The purpose of Lighthouse Christian School (LCS) is to provide a biblically-integrated instructional program in a disciplined environment that encourages spiritual commitment and academic excellence.
The Teacher’s role is a key Christian discipleship, academic, and ministry position.
LCS is currently accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year. Middle School/High School Math and Elementary teachers are our priority. Please review the essential job qualifications and requirements below prior to applying. We are not able to issue work visas.
Under the direction of the Head of School, the Teacher helps fulfill the school’s purpose of teaching and promoting the Christian faith, biblical literacy, and deep knowledge within each subject matter in all of its academic disciplines.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
PERSONAL BELIEF & BEHAVIOR
Must be a Christian believer who has received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior (John 1:12, John 3:3, I Peter 1:23).
Must agree to, affirm, support, and abide by the LCS Statement of Faith.
Must attend and support a Bible-believing church or fellowship of believers (Hebrews 10:25) whose doctrine and beliefs are not contrary to LCS’s Christian Beliefs as determined by the Board of Directors.
Must be able to serve as a positive Christian role model to students and all others in the LCS school context. (I Timothy 4:12, Luke 6:40).
Must have an understanding of and commitment to LCS’s educational objectives, religious mission, and philosophy of education.
Must affirm that he/she believes is passionate about the intellectual and moral formation of students and Christian education as a profession, believes that this profession and their role as a teacher are a good use of time and talent to honor the Lord Jesus Christ, and understands that teaching at LCS is a Christian ministry.
Must enjoy working with young people.
Commitment to a biblical lifestyle, not promoting or engaging in actions, beliefs, or lifestyles contrary to biblical standards, such as premarital, extramarital, transgender, or homosexual behavior (Romans 12:1-2, I Corinthians 6:9-20, Ephesians 4:1-11, 5:3-5, I Thessalonians 4:3-8, I Timothy 4:12, II Timothy 2:19-22, I Peter 1:15-16, 2:15-17, I John 3:1-3).
Strong commitment to Christian education affirming that he/she is passionate about the intellectual and moral formation of students and Christian education as a profession, believes their ministerial role as a teacher is a good use of time and talent to honor the Lord Jesus Christ, and understands that teaching at the school is a Christian ministry position.
Knowledge and ability to convey Christian beliefs, teachings, faith, and values that are in alignment with the school’s Statement of Faith to students, with the goal of assisting students in the formation and maturity of their own Christian faith.
Ability to teach all subjects from a Christian biblical worldview and perspective and to infuse and integrate Christian faith into all classes
Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree unless granted an exception by school administration. Graduate degrees are desirable.
Maintains appropriate professional credentials and certifications.
Must have appropriate knowledge of the subject matter and be effective in teaching and maintaining appropriate classroom discipline.
Must possess the biblical knowledge that enables the teacher to appropriately integrate Scripture into all subjects taught, thus imparting to students biblical literacy as well as the Christian faith.
INDIVIDUAL PRACTICES, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must be an enthusiastic follower of Jesus Christ.
Must have superior interpersonal relationship skills.
Must possess excellent judgment and discretion.
Must have the physical stamina required to fulfill the professional obligations of the teaching profession, their specific faculty assignment, and the management and safety of students, including, but not limited to, climbing stairs, riding the bus, lifting common classroom equipment and materials, supervising students both out-of-doors and indoors, assisting with the evacuation of students in case of emergencies.
Must have proficiency in computer and technology applications necessary for the teaching profession.
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to use the English language properly.
Must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and have effective time management skills.
Must be flexible and adaptable to schedule and other changes.
Must have the ability to maintain an orderly learning atmosphere.
Must be well organized, diligent, and creative.
Must have a teachable, servant spirit.
