Job Description: The Chief Financial Officer serves CCS by maintaining responsibility for the functions of the Business Office, tuition management system, upholding and updating financial policies through the approval of the CCS School Board, and engagement with the CCS Finance Committee.

Responsibilities:
Adheres to and strictly follow ethical guidelines and principles
Supervises all functions and duties of the Business Office
Prepares and maintains proper controls of all accounting functions
Prepares Annual Budget including budget updating and projection and manages expenses accordingly
Attends monthly CCS Finance Committee and Board meetings and prepares and presents monthly financial statements
Requests and reviews school contracts
Prepares and supervises details of the Annual Audit Balances all accounts and bank reconciliations monthly
Manages bank balances and investing of available funds into a promontory account, as appropriate
Oversees collection of Accounts Receivable and creation of payment options
Maintains all accounting functions for CCS parent groups as described in the CCS Policy and Procedures
Supports and manage workman’s compensation claims
Supervises federal and state reporting of 941s, W2s, 1095s, and 1099s
Manages Parental Choice, EVNs, distribution of checks, and reconciliation to the OTC
Maintains and engages with Tuition Assistance Committee to award additional tuition assistance
Manages Opportunity Scholarship Fund student applications and reconciliation
Supports and maintains potential Scholarship Granting Organizations both internally and externally as applicable
Oversees the procurement and distribution process of goods
Analyzes trends in tuition, costs, and other funding mechanisms, as well as conduct micro and macro, local and global applicable financial analyses
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
Master’s Degree in Education Administration, Business Administration, or a related field Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s Degree or CPA preferred)
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles; nonprofit or independent school experience preferred
Strong proficiency with accounting systems, Excel, and general financial software
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial practices
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and financial strategy
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
High ethical standards
Exemplifies strong leadership abilities including problem solving, collaboration, and service
Excellence in analytical and organizational skills
