Santiam Christian Schools seeks a High School Science teacher to join our Christ-Centered community in Oregon's beautiful Mid-Willamette Valley. The teacher must be able to teach Physical Science, Anatomy & Physiology and Forensics or other science classes as assigned. The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their age appropriate development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.
Requirements
Education and Experience Qualifications:
Shall be a college graduate from an institution recognized by ACSI
Shall have a current state certificate, ACSI certification, or be certifiable
Other qualifications may be added by the board as deemed appropriate
Exceptions because of unique areas of expertise will be evaluated by the Board on a case by case basis
Candidate should have strong classroom management skills
Professional Qualifications:
Utilizes educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth
Has a teachable spirit and demonstrates an attitude of continued learning and professional development
Attends and participates in scheduled devotional, in-service, retreats, committees, faculty, and parent meetings
Knows the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature
Refuses to use or circulate confidential information inappropriately
Demonstrates an appreciation and understanding of the uniqueness of the local community
Notifies the administration of any policy he/she is unable to support
Places his/her teaching ministry ahead of other jobs, outside interests, or volunteer activities
Required Spiritual Qualifications:
Must be a "born-again" Christian who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23).
Must be a spiritually mature and growing Christian who is active in their Christian life, with an understanding and commitment to the philosophy of Christian Education, compatible with that of Santiam Christian Schools.
Accepts, without reservation, Santiam Christian School’s Statement of Faith Gives testimony that administration is a spiritual calling and that administrating in Santiam Christian School is God's direction for their life for this school year.
Affirms that the Bible is God’s Word and the standard for faith and daily living.
Actively engaged in a church. 6. Manifests by daily example, the highest Christian virtue, serving as a Christian role model (1 Timothy 4:12), both in and out of school, to pupils (Luke 6:40), parents, and fellow employees. Instruction is not only through rational explanation of formal subject material but even more powerfully through word, deed, example, and shared experience.
