JOB SUMMARY: This position is to provide visionary leadership in collaboration with Head of School and leadership team, coupled with implementation excellence to achieve LCS’ mission. Along with instilling a joy-filled culture of excellence among staff and students, it is their responsibility to effectively communicate the spirit and mission of the school to the parents and the community. High parent and student satisfaction, strong retention and enrollment, and a good reputation in the community should result from the demonstration of these responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Born again Christian and Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Scriptures
Serve as a member or active participant in a Christian Trinitarian church
Demonstrate a continuing sense of God's direction in working at Lighthouse Christian School

Demonstrate effective interpersonal and social skills when relating to students, parents, and teachers
Hold academic requirements including a Master’s degree in an educational field; prefer administrative certification
Meet the professional qualifications of a Lighthouse teacher
Hold administrative experience over elementary, middle/junior high, and/or high school operations
Demonstrate managerial skills, i.e. goal setting, long range planning, budgeting, curriculum, evaluation, assessment, and day-to-day-educational program oversight

SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP

Serve as a spiritual mentor to staff

Oversee an effective spiritual development program for students, including discipleship and outreach
Ensure that the Biblical Worldview permeates our curriculum and teaching
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
Guide curriculum development and innovation strategies, implementation, and mapping
Oversee faculty recruitment, supervision, and evaluation
Inspire instructional excellence and professional development, including periodic in-service programs
Evaluate program effectiveness
PROGRAM
Conduct regular meetings with staff to share goals, evaluate progress, invite feedback and suggestions, develop continuous improvement plans, mentor and listen to concerns
Oversee organizational appraisal system to provide evaluations and focus areas for improvement; conduct performance appraisals of direct reports on an annual basis
Collaborate with the Director of HR in faculty recruitment and onboarding processes
Identify school-wide needs and where appropriate, create collaborative teams to address them
Manage school finances within policy and budgetary constraints; oversee development of the budget and resource allocation, in conjunction with the Head of School & Director of Operations
Promote Lighthouse to current and prospective families, as well as to local churches and community groups through effective marketing strategy
Collaborate with Head of School to develop school calendar that meets the criteria set by the state of Washington
Assist with campus security including crisis management preparation and implementation
Prepare and deliver a monthly report to board in conjunction with the Head of School
Serve as effective partner with Board by representing the needs of the school, communicating achievements, issues, and challenges, and serving on various committees where needed
Oversee an effective discipline plan and promote a healthy school culture
Oversee and implement the school’s harassment & civility policies
Serve on admissions committee
Communicate effectively with parents, students, teachers, the Board, prospective families, and the community
Collaborate in approval of student Personal Learning Plans (PLPs)
Coordinates with PLP facilitator, parents, and students to ensure PLP guidelines are met
Active participation in Student Care Team

WORK/TIME REQUIREMENTS
40 hours per week minimum, based on a 5-day work week
Teacher workdays as specified on the school calendar
Summertime work excluding three weeks of vacation
