School Profile

Acacia International School

School Overview

Acacia International School is a non-denominational Christian school founded in 2012 in Kampala Uganda. Its mission is to provide a rigorous and balanced Christian education that challenges students to excel academically and live out a Biblical worldview. The school's vision is to build the community of faith in Uganda by providing an excellent education, supporting missionaries and preparing servant leaders for the next generation.

The Senior School campus opened in August 2014 and celebrated the first graduation of Grade 12 students in June 2019. By December 2019 the school had an enrollment of 280 students in grades K-12 representing 26 nations. In our eighth year of operation we were honored to serve over 60 missionary kids from more than a dozen sending missionary organizations.

School History

Acacia was formed by a group of parents and educators who saw the need for quality education for missionaries and Christian workers in Kampala. The school was registered and opened its doors in August 2012 with 3 teachers and 17 students. Enrollment climbed rapidly. In the second year we added a 5 classroom block to accommodate growth and by the start of the third year we expanded onto a second "Senior School" campus. With enrollment at or near capacity and with the oldest students about to begin high school, the school board drafted a Master Plan with a vision of purchasing a large piece of land on the outskirts of Kampala that would allow for a larger high school including space for boarding section.

Acacia is an independent non-profit organization but has over Affiliate Member Missions who send children to the school. Africa Inland Mission, Mission Aviation Fellowship, Revelation Life and Engineering Ministries International have also had missionary teachers/spouses working at the school.
