School Profile

Christian International School of Prague

School Overview

The Christian International School of Prague (CISP) is a community of caring staff and teachers as well as diverse students. We provide an excellent education which is about more than just academics. The education at CISP is practically oriented, and our students are challenged to grow into responsible contributors to society. We believe that education should kindle students’ delight in learning and lay the groundwork for a joyful life of service to the world around us.

The teachers and staff at CISP strive daily to have an impact on our students that will leave a legacy in their minds and, more importantly, in their hearts. The vision of CISP is to see students who are followers of Jesus among the nations expressing their faith by thinking biblically, and loving and serving their communities for Him.

CISP is a mission school, and staff do not receive financial compensation. Teachers are supported through a mission agency and churches and/or individuals who are willing to invest in their ministry at CISP

School History

In 2003, several parents saw a need for an affordable education in English that integrated biblical faith in learning. They desired to offer this education to ex-pat and Czech families. A school board of six members was established, and founding documents were developed.

On 8 September 2004, CISP opened its doors with ten American missionary students. We offered a kindergarten/first grade and classes for 6th-9th graders. By the end of the first year, we grew to 18 students. Our student population multiplied in the early years, with students coming from different countries and varied backgrounds. CISP now has about 80 students, and over the years we have seen students from 33 different countries.

As our student population grew, so did our staff and facilities. Today we have 43 faculty and staff members. We began with two classrooms rented from an elementary Czech school, and now have 21 classrooms, with additional office and resource space.

The Association of Christian School International (ACSI) and Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) granted accreditation to CISP in 2013.

During the 2013-2014 school year, CISP celebrated the tenth anniversary of the school's existence.
