School Overview
The purpose of CBS is to develop an educational process that puts the truth of God's Word at the center and asks the student and teacher to evaluate all they see in the world through the eyes of God, because God is Truth. From this the student develops a Biblical worldview and perspective. We believe that the education of children is the God-given responsibility of parents and that our school functions as an extension of the home to meet this obligation. The school seeks to cooperate closely with parents in every phase of the student's development. Realizing the God-given differences and innate abilities in children, we encourage and expect each child to do his or her best. It is the desired goal of CBS that each student will learn not just "how to make a living" but, more importantly, "how to live for Jesus." Each child will be challenged to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord in all areas, and we commit ourselves to this purpose. Our mission is to provide Christ-centered education that constructs a Biblical worldview through a commitment to strong academics, genuine integrity and authentic faith.
School History
Located in Reidsville, North Carolina, Community Baptist Schools was founded and began it's first year of service in the fall of 1972 under the leadership of the Pastor and members of Community Baptist Church. The school began with fifty students in kindergarten and first grade as faith-based alternative to the public school system. CBS expanded to include preschool through 9th grade next. In 2006, the high school was added in order to provide continuous education. The school is the oldest and largest Christian school in Rockingham County and offers classes from K3-12th grades. The Lord continues to bless our ministry as we seek to fulfill His goal of Kingdom Education.
