School Profile

Cornerstone Christian Academy

School Overview

Founded in 1985, Cornerstone Christian Academy is an independent school serving preschool through eighth grade on a beautiful 10 acre campus on the Ossipee/Wolfeboro town line. Our small class sizes allow us to foster spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth according to the needs and interests of each individual child. Each child is special to our staff and we are committed to praying for the students every day.

This year we celebrated our 40th Anniversary!

School History

Cornerstone Christian Academy began in 1985 in the basement of the First Christian Church in Wolfeboro. Debbie Dunbar, a homeschooling mother, spoke with the church’s pastor, Gordon Avery, who encouraged her to start a school in the space provided by the church. Initial enrollment was nine students of multiple ages, and the school was then known as The First Christian Day School.
The school experienced steady growth during its first ten years, and in 1995 it was incorporated as Cornerstone Christian Academy to reflect its expansion, with students coming from across the Lakes Region. As enrollment increased, the church could no longer accommodate the growth, and in 1997 the school moved to its current location on the Wolfeboro/Ossipee line on Route 28. Student attendance soon peaked at 117 students from across the eastern side of the Lakes Region.
