School Overview
Cornerstone Preparatory Academy is a University-Model school, a private, Christian school whose purpose is to provide its students with a comprehensive, college-preparatory education from a biblical perspective. This comprehensive approach is accomplished through an educational format that makes provision for both professional classroom instruction at school and individualized parent involvement in the off-campus/at-home classroom at home.
Mission Statement: Partnering with parents to build in their children a firm foundation of academic excellence and Christian discipleship.
Elementary students are in the on-campus classroom on Tuesday and Thursday and are working at home, under the guidance of their parents on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, utilizing the curriculum and lesson plans provided by the school's professional educators.
Secondary students, grades 7-12, are on campus Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and are working independently at home on Tuesday and Thursday.
The goal of the University Model is to develop the child from a dependent learner in early elementary to become a fully independent learner in secondary school, a learner that excels in time management, self-motivation and direction, and who is able to engage critically with high level academic content.

School History
Cornerstone Prep is a unique educational model designed to bring together the best attributes of traditional schooling with the best attributes of home education and integrate them into one model. The immediate goal is quality, cost-effective, college-preparatory education accomplished in a way that gives parents more time for imparting the faith and values they hold precious. Cornerstone Prep integrates the parents, working one-on-one with their students, in partnership with highly qualified professional instructors to gain better academic and spiritual development in each student.
Cornerstone Preparatory Academy was incorporated in February 2004 with six founding families creating the founding families school board. The school opened for classes in August 2004.
The founding families school board has since transitioned to a policy governance board comprised of professional members of the school community.
