School Overview
At Faith Academy we strive to create a community where children love learning and grow in godliness, we partner with families in raising tomorrow’s leaders with a focus on excellence. As a Christ-centered school community we strive to radiate with the gospel message, transform the community, and elevate the value of education and redemption.
School History
Faith Academy was founded in 2013 as an initiative of Parkview Church through the vision of Pastor Doug Fern. Doug loved this community and after many years of doing youth ministry at “The Spot” saw it necessary to respond to another need – the need for access to quality Christian education. Doug assembled a team and together they dreamed of what it might look like to invest even more in the lives of the children and families of Southeast Iowa City. After a vision trip to Hope Academy in Minneapolis, they stepped out in faith and through the goodness of God, Faith Academy was established. Beginning with only two grades, 12 students, and a handful of staff members, Faith has grown to serve hundreds of children in our community while impacting countless generations to come.
