School Overview
Happy Hands Education Center is a Christian early education intervention and therapy center and preschool for children with hearing loss and communication disorders. Our mission is to empower children with hearing loss and communication disorders to flourish - - in their relationship with God, in relationships with others, in the education, and in life. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 ministry and have been in operation since 1994 in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. We are accredited by ACSI, a 3 star center with OKDHS, and an accredited private school through OPSAC.
School History
Happy Hands began in September of 1994 after many years of vision seeking and prayer by a pastor to the Deaf in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Through his experiences as a pastor and interpreter, he realized that early education opportunities for deaf children were non-existent. God gave him the vision for an early intervention center and school that would provide the language and literacy these children need to be successful in their education, successful in life, and have the Word of God planted in their hearts early. Happy Hands is a ministry to families who experience hearing loss and communication disorders and often time have no where to turn.
In 2008 Happy Hands was awarded a $6.8 million grant to build a state of the art building especially for these children. Today we serve 60+ children and their families and have changed a generation of deaf children giving them the skills necessary to be at grade level with their peers, develop healthy relationships and have the literacy necessary not only for education but to be able to read and understand the Word of God.
